I. Introduction to the University
Lanzhou Jiaotong University was founded in 1958. It is the third railway university in China. Five departments including Railway Transportation, Railway Electrical Engineering, Railway Construction, Railway Bridges and Tunnels as well as Railway Machinery, along with seven undergraduate disciplines and five junior college programs, were relocated as a whole from Beijing Railway Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University) and Tangshan Railway Institute (now Southwest Jiaotong University) to Lanzhou in 1958. Currently, the university is jointly supported by China Railway Corporation, National Railway Administration and Gansu Provincial Government. It has deep-rooted collaboration with Tianjin University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Southwest Jiaotong University. It is authorized by Chinese International Education Foundation to establish a Confucius Institute with University of Seville in Spain as well. It is a university supported by the “Midwest Education Revitalization Plan” of the Ministry of Education, a university selected for the “Outstanding Engineers Education and Training Program” of the Ministry of Education, a “Demonstration University for Deepening the Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education” of the Ministry of Education, a high-level university with first-class disciplines in Gansu Province. It is a demonstration base for overseas students studying in China. It has a large number of talent cultivation bases, such as the National Language Promotion Base, the National Railway Science Popularization Base, the National Beidou Science Popularization Base, the Cultural Heritage Base of the Ministry of Education and the Small Language Training Base in the Northwest Region.
Lanzhou Jiaotong University is located in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province. This city is an important industrial base and comprehensive transportation hub in China’s northwest region as determined by the approval of the State Council. It is one of the important central cities in the western region, a core node city on the Silk Road Economic Belt, and one of the five central cities on the Chinese section of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge. It enjoys reputations such as “an important town on the Silk Road”, “a pearl on the Yellow River”, “the Summer Palace in the West”, “the capital of waterwheels” and “a famous city for fruits”.
Lanzhou Jiaotong University currently has five postdoctoral research mobile stations in transportation engineering, civil engineering, environmental science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and surveying and mapping science and technology. As Gansu Province continues to increase its support for postdoctoral fellows in the stations, the university also constantly adjusts its talent introduction layout and recruits a large number of high-level doctoral graduates to engage in postdoctoral work in our university, such as doctoral students graduated from Tongji University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Xidian University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and so on. We warmly welcome outstanding young talents who are ambitious for self-development and willing to create a career with us!
II. Postdoctoral Achievements
Dr. Filonchyk Mikalai , a postdoctoral research fellow under the supervision of professor Yan Haowen, in the Faculty of Geomatics at Lanzhou Jiaotong University. His research interests encompass satellite observations of atmospheric processes, modeling aerosol optical properties, atmospheric chemistry of organic aerosols and mineral dust, as well as air pollution monitoring and control methods. As a postdoctoral researcher, He studies dust storms in the arid regions of northern China, their impact on ecosystems and living conditions, and also investigate the influence of various sources on the composition of aerosols and their atmospheric chemistry using remote sensing. His work also involves analyzing the impact of dust storms on air pollution and their consequences for the environment and public health.
By employing advanced remote sensing and modeling methods, He aims to gain a deeper understanding of how different natural and anthropogenic sources affect atmospheric processes and air quality in arid regions. The international academic environment at the university and its state-of-the-art research facilities significantly contribute to his scientific progress, enabling him to achieve new scientific breakthroughs and develop practical solutions for addressing air pollution and climate change.
III. Recruitment Requirements
(1) Under 35 years old (including 35 years old), without a work unit;
(2) Having obtained a doctorate degree, and the time since obtaining the degree is generally no more than 3 years, in good health;
(3) Doctoral graduates of this university cannot apply to enter the mobile station of the same first-level discipline as the one that awarded their doctorate degrees;
(4) Physically and mentally healthy, able to engage in research work in the mobile station for a long time.
