On November 29, 2023, the delegation led by Feruza Madraximova, President of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute visited Lanzhou Jiaotong University. Secretary of the Party Committee of Lanzhou Jiaotong University Di Shengkui met with the delegation. Vice President Chen Guangwu and director of Center of International Exchanges attended the meeting.

Di Shengkui welcomed the delegation's arrival. He introduced the history and development of Lanzhou Jiaotong University as well as its discipline construction situation, especially highlighting achievements in international exchanges and cooperation. He said that China-Uzbekistan friendly relations played an important role in “Belt and Road Initiative”. He hoped to further deepen bilateral cooperation in education and welcome more students from Uzbekistan to study at Lanzhou Jiaotong University.

Feruza Madraximova said that through this visit, she had a comprehensive and profound understanding of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. She fully agreed with Secretary Di Shengkui on his evaluation and proposal for educational exchanges between China and Uzbekistan. On behalf of the university, she would like to sign an agreement with Lanzhou Jiaotong University to promote cooperation between the two universities in talent cultivation, student exchange, academic exchange and scientific research collaboration. She also invited leaders and experts from Lanzhou Jiaotong University to visit Uzbekistan.

After the meeting, in the spirit of mutual benefits, a cooperation agreement was signed. Based on the agreement, both universities would fully utilize their own advantages in scientific research resources, talent teams and other aspects, jointly cultivate high-level talents, promote technology transfer, strengthen scientific research collaboration, achieve common development in cultural exchange and collaborative education.

The delegation also visited the School of International Education and met with Uzbek students studying in Lanzhou Jiaotong University. They learned about their study and life conditions. Feruza Madraximova encouraged them to cherish the opportunity of studying in China, and work hard to contribute to China-Uzbekistan friendship.
