On June 18, higher education consultancy Shanghai Ranking released the 2025 Best Chinese Majors Ranking. This ranking covers 836 majors across 93 major categories and 12 broad disciplines. LZJTU saw 55 programs listed in the ranking, with Civil Engineering and Engineering Cost Management ranked at the A level, and 33 programs such as Railway Transportation Signal and Control ranked at the B+ level. The number of programs ranked B+ or above leads among science and engineering universities in Gansu province.

The Best Chinese Majors Ranking is currently the largest and most comprehensive ranking of undergraduate majors in Chinese universities. The ranking employs a unique three-tiered evaluation framework for major competitiveness, encompassing university conditions, disciplinary support, major enrollment, major employment, and major facilities, with five indicator categories and 27 specific metrics. It aims to provide objective reference for students and parents in selecting undergraduate majors, as well as data support for universities in their major development and analysis.
Majors are the basic units of talent cultivation in universities, and major development is the cornerstone of high-quality development in higher education. Enhancing the level of major development holds significant strategic importance for universities.
