On the morning of June 26, Secretary of the CPC LZJTU Committee Di Shengkui met with the delegation from Tashkent State Transport University. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on educational cooperation in the context of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway project.

Di Shengkui first extended warm welcome to the delegation and reviewed the cooperative between the two universities in areas such as academic exchanges and faculty and student visits. He said that with the steady progress of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway project, new opportunities for cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the transportation sector have emerged. LZJTU is willing to take this visit as an opportunity to fully leverage its disciplinary advantages in fields such as rail transportation, and to engage in closer cooperation with Tashkent State Transport University in areas such as joint student exchange and collaborative scientific research. Two universities are expected to cultivate high-quality professional talent for the construction and subsequent operation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway, and to promote cooperation between the two countries in the transportation sector to a higher level.

Ruzmetov, head of the delegation, expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception. He said that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway, as an important project under the Belt and Road Initiative, will significantly promote regional connectivity and inject new momentum into educational and technological cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. Tashkent State Transport University has always placed great importance on its cooperation with LZJTU. It is hoped that, through this visit, the two parties can integrate their educational resources to advance the implementation of the 2+2 joint training program for international students in mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines, jointly cultivating composite talents with international vision and professional skills, thereby injecting vitality into the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway and regional transportation development.

The delegation will conduct a nine-day exchange visit to LZJTU starting from June 26. During the visit, the delegation will visit School of Automation and Electrical Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic and Information Engineering, and School of International Education. Delegation will engage in discussions with relevant officials and core faculty members about issues such as curriculum design, credit recognition, and teaching arrangements for the joint educational program, while also exchanging views on the potential for scientific research collaboration in the field of rail transportation. Besides, the delegation will conduct on-site visits to key research platforms to understand research achievements and technical capabilities of LZJTU in transportation information engineering, intelligent control, and railway signal safety, laying the foundation for future joint research efforts between the two institutions in these fields.

This visit represents an important practical step for LZJTU in deepening cooperation with Central Asian universities and serving the “Belt and Road” initiative. Through the exchange, the two universities have further clarified their cooperation directions and will work together to build a more closely integrated educational cooperation system, providing strong talent and intellectual support for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway and regional transportation development, and jointly writing a new chapter in educational exchange and cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.
