On the afternoon of October 1, Nie Lei, Executive Vice President of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, met with Professor Giorgio Resta, Vice Rector for International Affairs of Roma Tre University, Italy, in Beijing. The two sides held an exchange symposium centered on jointly conducting cooperative education programs, promoting two-way mobility of faculty and students, and strengthening scientific research collaboration. The symposium was chaired by Wu Yizheng, President’s Assistant.

Wu Yizheng extended a warm welcome to Vice Rector Giorgio Resta and provided a detailed introduction to the development history, characteristics of talent cultivation, achievements in scientific research, and accomplishments in internationalization of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. Vice Rector Giorgio Resta expressed high expectations for cooperation with Lanzhou Jiaotong University, hoping that the two institutions could engage in in-depth collaboration across multiple disciplinary fields, fostering innovative and integrated interdisciplinary development. Executive Vice President Nie Lei expressed the hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity to actively explore the feasibility of jointly applying for a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution with Roma Tre University, aiming to build a deeply integrated and mutually beneficial cooperative relationship.

Representatives from the Center of International Exchanges, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, and the School of Traffic and Transportation attended the symposium and expressed their views. Both sides conducted practical and in-depth discussions and consultations regarding cooperation areas and mechanisms.
