On April 23, the School of International Education at Lanzhou Jiaotong University (LZJTU) held a Chinese classics recitation competition titled “Reciting Chinese Classics, Understanding the Chinese Spirit” in the university library’s archive hall. A total of 23 international students from seven countries—Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, France, Kazakhstan, and Laos—advanced to the final round.

Participants incorporated cultural elements such as Hanfu, classical music, calligraphy, guzheng, and their own traditional attire into their recitations, performing either individually or in groups. Judging was based on five criteria: recitation content, linguistic expression, emotional expression, stage presence, and cultural understanding.

Winners:
- First Prize: Sato Mari (France) and Wang Xinyu (Myanmar) (duo)
- Second Prize: Ko Han Zhen (Indonesia); Liang Meili and Gu Xinyan (Myanmar) (duo); Hoang Quoc Tan, Bui Thi Thu Hang, and Tran Quynh Chi (Vietnam) (trio)
- Third Prize: Wang Yongnian (Myanmar); Dang Van Hoa (Vietnam); Di Anna (Turkmenistan); Nguyen Thi Loan Phuong (Vietnam)
- Best Performance Award: Su Xinqi (Indonesia); Ao Li (Kazakhstan)
- Excellence Awards: Li Xingyao (Laos); Tran Huong Giang and Nguyen Hien Linh (Vietnam) (duo), among others
