On August 15, the closing ceremony of the 2026 “Encounter China · Silk Road Journey” Spanish Youth Summer Academic and Cultural Camp was held at Lanzhou Jiaotong University (LZJTU), marking the end of the two-week program. A total of 29 young participants from Spain and Mexico successfully completed the camp.

Co-organized by LZJTU and the University of Seville, Spain, the camp is the first short-term program funded by the China Scholarship Council for Spanish youth. Participants attended lectures on rail transit and traditional Chinese architecture, visited the Gansu Provincial Museum, Dunhuang Art Gallery, Zhongshan Bridge, Yellow River Scenic Area, and Huaniu Apple Base in Lanzhou and Tianshui, and took part in four intangible cultural heritage workshops on martial arts, sachet making, calligraphy, and tie-dyeing. At the closing ceremony, participants received certificates and shared their experiences.
