On April 10, first batch of short-term and medium-term visiting teachers program in Cardiff University concludes successfully. This program, lasting for three months, with 9 teachers participating in, is an important milestone in deepening cooperation between Lanzhou Jiaotong University and Cardiff University.

School of Engineering of Cardiff University provided all-round support to LZJTU teachers. The research centers and laboratories under the School of Engineering were provided for the visiting teachers, and senior professors arranged as cooperative supervisors. Visiting teachers jointly carried out research with Cardiff University scholars, and some papers have been revised and submitted to international journals. In terms of improving teaching ability, visiting teachers had an in-depth observation of the curriculum design and teaching system of Cardiff University's School of Engineering. Some courses in Cardiff College of Engineering adopt the "project-driven process assessment" model, emphasizing the cultivation of students' practical ability; Some courses are stimulated through interdisciplinary case teaching. The visiting teachers said that Cardiff's teaching philosophy and modular course design provided an important reference for them to design and optimize their courses in LZJTU.

Cardiff University is a member University of the Russell Group in the United Kingdom. The School of Engineering enjoys a high reputation in the international academic community. Its research directions cover renewable energy, intelligent transportation, robotics, and other fields, which are compatible with our LZJTU disciplines like rail transit, civil engineering, electronic information. In April 2024, the two universities signed an academic cooperation agreement in the areas of talent training, joint laboratories, and joint international academic conferences.

The visiting teachers program not only promoted faculty training and joint scientific research between the two universities, but also laid a solid foundation for the follow-up cooperation in other fields.
